Mukilteo, Washington

Mukilteo, Washington has had several names, including Rosehill and Elliot Point. In 1859, J.D. Fowler and his partner Morris Frost renamed their settlement Mukilteo, which is a literal interpretation of the Indian word “Muckl-Te-Oh”. Muckl-Te-Oh may be translated as “long goose neck”, referring to the split land where the historic Mukilteo Lighthouse is located.

Just down the road: Seattle, Washington.
